History

Early history

It all began with a hobby project: a humble, free visual novel called Sepia Tears that was first released on December 24, 2013. Afterwards, the founder — that's me — created the Scarlet String Studios brand to publish Sepia Tears on Steam in January 2016. At that point, I begun to think about game development as a serious career option, and I began studying Unity in my spare time. My dream was to create narrative games that push the artistic boundaries of games as a medium.

Present day, present time

By March 2018, I had incorporated Scarlet String Studios and quit my day job to work full-time on Monospaced Lovers. I assembled a team of collaborators, and together we've brought the game to its current state.
